The gardens are such an amazing place. The owner at the villa we are staying in at Cascais recommended it as his favorite spot in the Sintra area. Windy tree-covered paths, stone steps, then around a corner a castle turret or a beautiful mosaic backed fountain. We didn’t wait in the long line for the underground caverns, but did glimpse them from some well openings further down the path. The manor house near the entrance is definitely worth a slow walk-through. We got there late in the day so just a very short line at tickets, which we breezed right by with our passes.

Quinta da Regaleira!!! I choose it over Pena Palace and I don’t regret it! It was magnificent. I loved all of the discovering process. The Initiation Well is better done later and not at 10h as it is an 1hour waiting line. Entering was little complicated as there were tours as well and firstly it looked like a gigantic que but it wasn’t. They stood to get the ticket from the tour guide and made it look like that…😑 Once I understood that I was inside in a minute. Because I wanted to explore it took me 5 hours ✨️😊💪A very nice day trip.
